SLOW DOWN · STAY TWO NIGHTS

One Night Is a Pit Stop. Two Nights Is the Roslyn Weekend.

90 minutes from Seattle sits a mountain town people drive through on the way to somewhere else — and regret it the whole way home. Give Roslyn a full weekend: two nights, two slow mornings, and every reason to stop rushing.

WHY TWO NIGHTS CHANGES EVERYTHING

The Town Reveals Itself on Day Two

Check in Friday and out Saturday, and all you’ve seen is dinner and a bed. Stay through Sunday and you get the whole rhythm: trail mornings, saloon evenings, and the unhurried in-between that’s the entire point of a mountain town.

Friday · Arrive & Unwind

Self check-in anytime after 4 PM — no front desk, no rush over the pass. Dinner at The Brick, pouring since 1889. Nightcap at Corks or Basecamp’s basement speakeasy.

Saturday · The Full Day

Coffee and baked goods from the cafe downstairs. Hike the Coal Mines Trail or ride the Ride Roslyn MTB network. Swim Lake Cle Elum or snowshoe by season. Wander the camel mural and galleries.

Sunday · Earn the Drive Home

Slow morning — you’re already here, no alarm needed. Brunch and one last stroll down Pennsylvania Avenue. Checkout at 11, home to Seattle by early afternoon.

A Weekend Getaway From Seattle That’s Actually a Getaway

Roslyn sits at 2,200 feet on the dry, sunny east side of the Cascades — which means the weekend you planned actually happens, in all four seasons. The whole historic downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places, and from our door you can walk to every restaurant, bar, gallery, trailhead connection, and film site in town. Fans of a certain 90s TV show will recognize the place immediately — here’s the full Northern Exposure pilgrimage guide.

Our rooms book with a two-night minimum on weekends, and honestly, that’s us doing you a favor: nobody has ever left Roslyn on Saturday morning glad they did. Anniversary trips, first getaways, solo resets, hiking weekends — two nights is the size this town was made for.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Roslyn Weekend FAQs

Why is there a two-night minimum?
Because one night in Roslyn short-changes the trip — you arrive at dinner and leave before the town wakes up. Two nights gives you a full day in the mountains and a slow Sunday morning, and it’s how nearly all our happiest reviews were written.
How far is Roslyn from Seattle?
About 80 miles / 1.5 hours east on I-90 — take Exit 80 at Cle Elum and follow Bullfrog Road into town. Leave Seattle at 5 on Friday and you’re at The Brick by 7.
What is there to do in Roslyn for a weekend?
Hiking the Coal Mines Trail, world-class mountain biking on the Ride Roslyn system, fly fishing the Cle Elum and Yakima rivers, Lake Cle Elum in summer, snowshoeing and Snoqualmie Pass skiing in winter — plus historic saloons, galleries, live music, and Northern Exposure filming sites, all walkable from the inn.
Is Roslyn good for a couples' getaway?
It’s one of Washington’s best-kept romantic weekends: a historic room upstairs, wine bar and distillery downstairs, mountain trails ten minutes away, and zero traffic noise between you and the stars.
When should I book a weekend at The Spruce Moose?
Summer weekends and holiday weekends book out well ahead, and our three rooms go fast. If you have a date in mind, book it — flexible cancellation applies per each listing’s policy.
